Argentina

I traveled south to city of Buenos Aries and was served up a tasty dish called Milanesas.

Milanesas

Ingredients
1 egg
60 ml milk
120g seasoned bread crumbs
2T grated parmesan
1T minced fresh parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
salt
pepper
450g boneless beef top sirloin steaks, cut into 1/2 cm slices (4cm thick)
oil
2 medium ripe tomatoes, sliced
115g sliced mozzarella cheese

Directions
1
In a shallow bowl, whisk the eggs and milk.
2
In another shallow bowl, combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, salt and pepper.
3
Dip steak in egg mixture, then coat with the crumb mixture.
4
In a large skillet, heat 1.25cm of oil.
5
Brown steak over medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired level (keep in mind that the longer it is cooked, the tougher it gets).
6
Drain on paper towels.
7
Transfer to a baking sheet.
8
Top beef with tomato, then cheese slices.
9
Grill for 1-2 minutes or until cheese is melted.
10
Serve with mashed potatoes

I was also served a local tea called yerba mate and for desert I had some pomello.
This dish was delicious and the closest I've come to my regular diet. The green tea was quite good also. The pomello was satisfyingly citrus tasting but a word of warning, DO NOT eat the pith. The pith tastes like a lemon that has resided in a bovines rear end for a month, expelled and then urinated on by said bovine.
